Export & International Travel

International Travel Policies

Required actions in Advance of International Travel
These requirements apply to all University of Arizona (UA) faculty, staff, students and volunteers who travel internationally as part of University of Arizona research, education, service or employment.

1. Complete a Travel Authorization Form with your department

3. Make sure all necessary approvals are obtained prior to international travel (Risk Management, Export Controls, etc.).

International Travel Checklists and Forms
This checklist is a “tool” to help the international traveler determine if an export license or license exception will be needed for equipment, data, or other items that will be taken outside the U.S. It is not a required form, but can be used to make an assessment.

TMP Exception Form
This form should be used if you are traveling outside the U.S. and taking UA owned equipment, such as a laptop.  This exception is not applicable for anything ITAR controlled (a license from State would be required).  Instructions can be found on the form.

BAG License Exception Form
This form should be used if you are traveling outside the U.S. and taking your personal laptop or other equipment that contains UA project data.  This exception is not applicable for anything ITAR controlled (a license from State would be required).  Instructions can be found on the form.
